Memphis is Moses Crouch’s home and it has shaped and inspired him throughout his life. He is proud to live in the place they called “The Home of The Blues” and “The Birthplace of Rock N Roll” The place they called “Soulsville USA.” Moses had the opportunity to see and to collaborate with truly great musicians who influenced entire generations and are still relevant today. He also spent a lot of time across the border in North Mississippi, going to juke joints and picnics where Hill Country Blues was being played by the surviving masters and their descendants and began to play with them at festivals and jams in the spirit of the originators.

This album manifests Moses’ deep dive into the variety of styles that have evolved in Memphis and North Mississippi for the last century, and his emotional connection to the fundamental and vital element that they all share. Moses calls Blues “Earth Music” and describes it this way: “You have to feel it to do it right. That can’t be taught. Blues is intended to be medicinal, spiritual, radical, and visceral. It is meant to be just as effective to the player as it is to the listener. For me, making this recording was a powerful and emotional experience. I hope the listener can feel it too.”
